Thank you for supporting my participation in the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance Rivkin Family SummeRun!
As many of you know, Susan has been fighting ovarian cancer since July 2015 — almost 11 years. Today, we’re ecstatic to share that she has been out of treatment for the past year and a half. Her strength, resilience, and spirit continue to inspire all of us.
This year marks our 10th SummerRun, and we’re walking in honor of Susan and our dear friend, Jenn Kallen, who beat ovarian cancer. The event takes place once again at Seward Park in Seattle, with proceeds supporting OCRA’s research programs, including the Rivkin Pilot Grants.
SummerRun was founded by Dr. Saul Rivkin and his five daughters after losing their wife and mother, Marsha Rivkin, to ovarian cancer. What began as a family’s tribute has grown into one of the largest fundraising events for ovarian cancer research in the country. Over the past 30+ years, SummerRun has raised more than $10 million to advance lifesaving research.
We walk because research matters. We walk because it saves lives. And this year, we walk with immense gratitude for Susan’s continued health and for the hope this event brings to so many families.
